Roberto Rivera, a long-life resident of Lawton, Oklahoma, died with peace and comfort on March 17th, 2022, at the age of 59.
Roberto is survived by his parents; Norka Rios (Mom), Val Rivera (Father); siblings, Val Rivera, Liz Mele, and Kimberly Santora; his wife, Elke Rivera; his children, Roberto Rivera, Sammy Rivera, Michael Rivera, and Michelle Williams, and 6 precious grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his Grandparents, paternal; Rafael & Fausta Ortiz, maternal; Angel & Carmen Rios; his companion of 10 years, Max (Maximus).
Roberto was born in Spanish Harlem, August 24th, 1963 to Norka Rios and Val Rivera. He was a man who understood the concept of survival. Growing up he enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and spending time with family. At the age of 13, Roberto moved to Puerto Rico where he resided during his young adult life. Roberto worked in the Sugar field after his 1st child was born. In 1983, Roberto Rivera went into the United States Army, where he served for five years, and fought in the Desert Storm. He served his country well. It was shortly thereafter, that he met his beloved soulmate Elke Rivera. They met at Arvin's in Chickasha, Oklahoma. It was 6 months later that they would decided to seal there union in a covenant marriage, that lasted 21 years.
Together, they enjoyed traveling, eating at new restaurants, and reading. Roberto Rivera was a devoted father and husband. He enjoyed dancing, and playing the Congas when he wasn't hunting, fishing, or camping. He was a simple man who enjoyed the beauty of life. He was brave and noble, righteous and humble. He was a bold speaker with a gentle soul. He will be missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
