Robert J. Oliver, also known as “Cloud 9, The Artist”, was taken from us on October 2, 2021 in Lawton at the young age of 33. Robert “Cloud 9” was a loving son, father, brother and a true friend to many. He would always help anyone (even a stranger) in need, without hesitation.
Native of Hollis, Oklahoma, Robert “Cloud 9” Oliver was born in Altus, Oklahoma on July 7, 1988. He has been living in Lawton since 1992. He attended Lawton Public Schools and graduated from Lawton High School in 2007. Oliver was a talented athlete who participated in many sports, basketball, football, wrestling and track. During his senior year in high school, Oliver qualified for the Junior Olympics. After graduation, he began boxing. He also attended Firefighter School. Other than sports, in his teenage years, Robert discovered his other passion, making music. Therefore, in 2005 with his cousins, “Cloud 9, The Artist” was born.
Robert is survived by his children, JaNiya, Brenda, his only son Quion and Rose; his mother, Stephanie; his father, Martin; his siblings, Darrell, Mia, Agustin, Angel and Jenny and his maternal grandparents. He is also survived by two aunts, Vickie and Tonya and five cousins, Aaron, Raymond, Cinsere, Daniel and Syesha.
