Jennie Mae (Cleveland) Jackson was born May 1, 1958 and adopted by Jewell Douglas and Hugh Cleveland in Lawton, OK.
She was raised as the only child during which time she attended Dunbar School. There after she attended Tomlinson and Lawton High School. She went on to work for Fort Sill Billeting for many years. Jennie enjoyed reading, watching sci-fi movies, spending time with her grandchildren, traveling and family gatherings.
Grant Chapel was her home church where she received Christ during her childhood. Jennie was baptized May 6, 2018 and she was a Deaconess at New Life SDA Church until her health made it difficult for her to attend.
Jennie absolutely loved life and she especially loved her children. She is survived by her children Tinesha (Dekota) Shedd of Lawton, OK, Wilford (Arlene) Cleveland of Lawton, OK, Tonya Jackson – Atkinson of OKC, OK, Elisa (Antoine) Adams of Lawton, Ok and Jennifer (Cornelius) Smith of Austin, TX. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren that she adored. Jennie was blessed to have met many members of her biological family in 2019, which was a lifelong dream of hers. That family consists of the Lindleys, Halls and Wilsons. Jennie also had many more friends and family that held a special place in her heart and life including Schon Webster, Jerri Sleeper and Janet Legardye whom she considered her sisters and David Bradley who was like a brother to her.
Her parents Hugh Cleveland, Jewell Douglas and her cousin Jimmy Don Harris precede her in death.
