Francis "Frank" Armstrong, age 77, of Lawton passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at his residence.
Frank was born on October 15, 1943 in Joplin, Missouri to Albert and Julia Manapace Armstrong. He proudly served in the United States Army. While in the Army, Frank received numerous decorations, medals, badges, citations and campaign ribbons, including the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expediting Medal, Good Conduct Medal (5th award), Basic Missileman Badge, German Marksmanship Medal (bronze), Expert Badge (M-16 and 45 Cal Pistol), Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon-2. Frank was a member of the Forty and Eight Veterans Organization and the VFW.
Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Julia Armstrong and his wife, Helen E. Armstrong, Frank is survived by three stepsons, Aikra Matsumura and wife Paulene of Norman, Herbert T, Belter Jr. and wife Meribeth of Lawton and Peter Caudill and wife Shoni of Norman; two stepdaughters, Carol Nededog of Oklahoma City and Babbette Walker and husband Billy of Hugo; one sister, June Boyer of Joplin, Missouri and one cousin, Francie Qualls of Joplin, Missouri along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and close friends.
The family will be having a private memorial at a later date.
