Anna Louise Lyons, 81, died at her home near Indiahoma, Oklahoma on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Anna was born in Skellytown, Texas on April 20, 1940, to parents Roy and Velma Lee. She graduated from high school in Oilton, Oklahoma, in 1958. She subsequently worked as an accountant and bookkeeper at locations in Oklahoma and Texas.
Anna was a remarkably kind, gentle, loving, and giving woman. She was fiercely independent, and a friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Grandson Taylor Bird said she would give anyone the shirt off her back. Although Ann suffered from multiple sclerosis for more than half of her life, she consistently placed the needs of others before her own. Close long-term friends Ron and Sally Scott described her as a role model for living with a debilitating disease. Despite her considerable and painful health issues, she rarely complained, maintained a healthy sense of humor, and refused to succumb to her disease.
Ann was preceded in death by parents Roy and Velma Lee, sister Barbara Epperson, daughter Tana Bird, grandson Tyler Bird, and many friends and other relatives. She is survived by brother Roy Carlton Lee and spouse Doris, grandson Taylor Bird and spouse Ashley, grandson Braydon Bird, several nieces and nephews, and several older and newer friends. This admirable and amazing woman will be sorely missed.
