Elbert "Wayne" Thompson was born December 26, 1939 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Lois and Eva (Kelly) Thompson. He passed away September 2, 2012 at the age of 72 in a local hospital at Lawton, Oklahoma with his family and friends at his side. Memorial services will be held September 8, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Whinery-Huddleston Chapel officiated by Gary Castleberry.
During wheat harvest in Wellington, Texas, Wayne was introduced to Cheryl McGill, they married in Wichita Falls, Texas on August 20, 1960. He was a heavy equipment operator and foreman for Lawton Transit Mix, he retired for health reasons in 2002. He had three great loves outside his family; those were fishing, hunting, and gardening. He is preceded in death by both of his Parents.
Wayne is survived by his Wife, Cheryl Thompson, Cache, OK; two Sons, Chad Thompson, and Christopher Thompson, both of Lawton, OK; three Daughters, Lois Stoll, Wichita, KS, Ellen Maybray and husband Jeff, Houston, TX, Sylvia Jenkins and husband Mark, Marlow, OK; nine Grand Children, Lacey Stoll, Wichita, KS, Angie Boles and husband Mitch, Marlow, OK, Lesa Thompson, Lawton, OK, Maddische Thompson, Lawton, OK, Eliot Thompson, Lawton, OK, Katelyn Maybray, Houston, TX, Michael Floyd, Marlow, OK, Chloe Thompson, Lawton, OK, Riley Thompson, Lawton, OK; one Great Grandchild, Asher Faith Boles, Marlow, OK; two Brothers, Kenneth Thompson, Lawton, OK, and Bob Thompson and wife Nelda, Elgin, OK; two Sisters, Lavera Byrd and husband Robert, Elgin, OK; Glenda Miller and husband Orville, Huntsville, AL.
